Can a camper van be driven with a standard motor vehicle license?

A

You can drive a camper van with a standard motor vehicle license. You can use a camper van even if your license is limited to automatic transmission vehicles.
*If you obtained your driver’s license on March 12, 2017, or later, you may not be able to use some vehicles (This vehicle is for those who have a semi-mid-sized driver's license. If you have any question, feel free to ask).

On-board ETC equipment is provided. Please bring your ETC card.

Is the camper van an automatic transmission vehicle?

A

Yes. All camper vans we offer are automatic transmission vehicles.

Is the vehicle equipped with a car navigation system?

A

Yes. All of our camper vans are equipped with a car navigation system.

Can a pet ride in the vehicle?

A

All vehicles do not allow pets to ride.

Can I smoke?

A

All vehicles are nonsmoking vehicles. Heated tobacco products and electronic cigarettes are also prohibited.

Is the vehicle equipped with a toilet and shower?

A

The on-board equipment does not include a toilet and shower.

Can I cook inside the car?

A

Refrain from cooking that leaves odors behind, such as grilled meat. If significant odors or dirt is left, you may be separately charged for cleaning.

What is the driving qualification?

A

Standard automatic transmission vehicle driving license (however, at least three years have passed since you received the driver’s license).

Can I drive a vehicle without a reservation?

A

Yes, if there are available vehicles. It is recommended that you make a reservation in advance because you cannot use a vehicle unless there is a vacancy.

Tell me about the cancellation fee after a reservation is completed.

A

If you cancel your reservation, you will be charged a reservation cancellation fee as follows:
Seven days before reserved date of riding: Free of charge
Six to three days before reserved date of riding: 20% of basic charge
Two days to the day before the reserved date of riding: 30% of basic charge
Reserved date of rising or later: 50% of basic charge

What should be done to change a reservation made on another website?

A

A reservation that was made on another reservation website cannot be changed.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but please go through the cancellation procedures on the website where you made the reservation.

Can I have a look around at a camper vehicle?

A

Yes, if the vehicle is not being rented. Please inform us of the date and time you want to take a look.

A

In addition, various descriptions, such as when the insurance does not apply or when you have to make payment, are included in the contract. Please be sure to read the contract before submitting an application.

What are the Anshin Compensation (exemption compensation) System and the Anshin Compensation System Wide like?

A

These exempt you from paying for property damage and vehicle damage that you would have to pay if you have an accident.

Tell me about the non-operation charge (NOC).

A

If you damage a vehicle while using it, you will be charged as follows regardless of the extent of the damage or repair period:
If the vehicle can operate by itself and you return it to the planned shop: 20,000 yen
If the vehicle cannot operate by itself and you cannot return it to the planned shop: 50,000 yen
If the accessory part of the camper van is damaged: 100,000 yen

Does the insurance and compensation system apply when there are two or more drivers?

A

The insurance and compensation similar to the borrower’s application if the driver’s licenses of all the people who may drive the vehicle are presented when you go through the procedures for departure.

Is there are cases where the insurance and compensation systems are not applicable?

A

Damage to the vehicle may not be compensated if the accident occurred because you violated the Road Traffic Act or drove in places that no one would usually drive.

What is necessary for renting a car?

A

An identification document is necessary in addition to the driver’s license. (Credit card that can be used in the shop, health insurance card, passport, employee ID card of your company, resident card, etc.)

What should be done if there are two or more drivers?

A

The driver’s license will be copied if you visit our shop on the day of the rental.
If you cannot visit us, please bring a copy of the driver’s license of the drivers.

Can you keep and take care of the car I used to visit you?

A

Yes, we will keep and take care of your car free of charge.

What should be done with the fuel when the car is returned?

A

The vehicle is rented with the fuel tank full. Therefore, return the vehicle with the fuel tank full.
If you cannot return the vehicle with the fuel tank full, an adjustment will be made in the unit price that J-net Rent a Car has decided.

How to use the equipment is explained?

A

Please watch the explanatory videos of each vehicle on the website before using the vehicle.
Detailed explanations and answers to your questions will be provided when you visit us.

What should I do if I have an accident?

A

Should you be responsible for the accident, please respond as follows:
(1) Move the car to a safe location to prevent further accidents.
(2) Please attend to those who are injured.
(3) Report the accident to the police.
(4) Confirm the other party.
(5) Report the accident to the shop where you started the vehicle. *Do not make an out-of-court settlement at that time. If you have made an out-of-court settlement, the insurance cannot be applied. Therefore, you must shoulder the total amount.

Are the specified procedures necessary when only a small part was scraped, instead of an accident?

A

Yes, they are. J-net Rent a Car handles any damage or dent, regardless of its side and regardless of whether there is other party concerned, as an accident.
(If you have not completed the necessary procedures, you will be charged because insurance and compensation do not apply.)

What will become of me if I violate the road traffic law?

A

Be sure to report to the police station in charge and have them handle any violations before returning the vehicle.
