What if I can’t refuel in time to return the car?

We generally ask that you return the car with a full tank. However, if you are unable to refuel due to time constraints, we will charge you a fuel fee based on the distance driven upon your return. We can also provide information about nearby gas stations.

This is my first time driving on the left side of the road. How hard will it be to get used to it?

Answer

Many customers have told us they got used to it faster than expected. Before departure, our staff will carefully explain the important points of driving on the left side of the road. You can also refer to our multilingual guidebook for things to watch out for (intersections, curves and more). For those anxious about driving, we recommend departing in the morning when traffic is lighter.

I’m traveling with children. What safety measures are in place?

Answer

Child seats are available as an optional extra (at ¥1,100 per day). Seats are available in various sizes depending on your child’s age and weight (newborns, infants, toddlers and junior). As numbers are limited, we recommend making a reservation in advance. All products used comply with safety standards and we offer assistance with installation. Please inform us of your child’s age and weight when booking.

Can I use the car navigation system in my native language?

Of course you can. All vehicles are equipped with a navigation system that can be switched to English and Chinese. Search for your destination easily by entering a map code or phone number.

What support system is available in the event of vehicle malfunction or accident?

In the unlikely event of an accident or engine breakdown, please contact our 24-hour emergency support center immediately. Our English and Chinese-speaking staff will help you deal with the situation. If necessary, we can arrange for a tow truck or a loan vehicle. We will also provide step-by-step instructions on how to handle the situation on-site.

Unlimited liability insurance for bodily injury and property damage is included in the basic fee.
For an additional 1,100 yen or 2,200 yen per day we offer plans that reduce your out-of-pocket expenses in the event of an accident.

What is an ETC card? How do I use it and how much will it cost me?

Answer

ETC cards are an automated toll payment system for expressways, allowing you to pass through toll booths smoothly. We can loan them out to you at no cost so you only pay the actual toll. Detailed instructions in English on how to insert and use the card are provided, so even first-time users can use the service without any problems.

In addition to our agency (transfer service to/from Itami Airport and Rinku Town Station, one stop from Kansai International Airport), we also offer vehicle pickup and drop off services at major stations such as Shin-Osaka, Osaka, Umeda, and Namba.

Are there any rules regarding refueling when returning a vehicle?

Answer

The general rule is to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when you picked it up. We provide an English guide on how to use gas stations in Japan (including the differences between self-service and full-service stations). We also offer a fueling service for those short on time, available for an additional fee, which you can request before you depart.
